I just did a major clean-out of the inventory that had been relegated to the garage. What I found was storage box after storage box of things that my kids are never really going to want, nor do they likely remember, most of which are vintage. So I consolidated into new boxes that I can grab and list when I have the time. So I’m working as diligently as I can to list these items. Check back often to Etsy and Bonanza as more and more will be added in the coming weeks. For starters:

My multiple recent sticker sales have prompted me to filter through my boxes of inventory and create more listings. There are always buyers out there asking me, “Do you have this one?” or that one? So I’ve been consolidating so that I can more easily find what people are looking for. I can also offer those vintage or more hard-to-find stickers that our twelve-year-old selves remember so well. Including Mrs. Grossman’s as always, plus some Sandylion and Hambly. I can always make up a custom order for reduced shipping and a discount. And free stickers are sent with large purchases. If there’s something you’ve been looking for – just ask! So peruse away, I will continue to add even more in the future…. Etsy Stickers

On occasion, I’ve been asked by my Etsy buyers if I have any promo or coupon codes. And in the past, I didn’t think there was a way to add them to my store. But now, after my last post, “Friends & Family Cards from Miss Bargain Huntress,” and adding coupons to my packages, I realize I can simply add a coupon code to my Etsy store so that buyers can easily use it if they receive a coupon in their package, or if they ask for it ;-), instead of having to contact me directly to use it. If you have a store and want to add a coupon to your store, go to your top toolbar of your dashboard and click on “Your Shop,” then “Promote” on the left side, to “Coupon Code” on the right. My current code is M6B1H6 for 10% off. Happy Shopping!
I don’t know where I’ve been or how long I’ve been gone to have missed the fact that you can now feature 15 sections in your Etsy Shop instead of the several that I had tried so desperately to make all-inclusive before. For months I kept thinking, gee, I wish they would just add more sections so that my buyers could narrow down what they were looking for. Then, just the other day, I was checking over my shop to move things around a bit, as when certain listings had been mistakenly made in the wrong category. And while in the Listings Manager and under Manage Sections, I saw a button at the bottom that said, “Add Section.” And when I clicked on it I was given a window to add! And at the top it told me how many of the 15 sections I had used! I quickly made several new Sections and began reorganizing my shop. I created “Stuffed Animals & Plush,” “Barbie & Cher,” “Home Decor,” “Crafts & Fabric” and “Mugs, Glasses & Plates.” And I still have one more left to use. I’m not sure I’m sticking with those additions, but for now they help to streamline my shop.
If you’re an Etsy Seller, you can also add more sections to clean things up a bit. And if you’re an Etsy Buyer, check out your favorite shops to see if you can now find things more easily! Stay tuned as Etsy is also completely revamping all stores very soon!
Because I primarily list vintage items on Etsy, the change of the year brings the opportunity to add to my inventory with all of those items that were previously too young to be listed. I’ve been reviewing my other inventories and storage items to find newer versions of what have previously been popular sellers. And, thankfully, as I went along this past year, I created a box labeled, “2016,” so I’d be able to quickly list a bunch of things at the start of the new year. This is only the beginning, so stay tuned for more newly-listed, twenty-year-old items!
It’s about four months until Christmas and with four month listing periods on Etsy, it’s time to list and relist all of the Christmas and Holiday items that have been waiting for their time to shine. More items will be added as the season approaches so check back often for new vintage and crafting finds.
As those of you who list on Etsy know, each listing costs 20¢ for 4 months. And those of you who have multiple online stores may also know that listings can sell on one site and then you’ll have to “deactivate” or close them on the others on which the same items were listed. That is unless you’re more careful and only list one thing on one site in order to alleviate the need to deactivate or close. Over time I’ve realized… I’m just wasting the rest of the 4 months that are left on that listing that I’m deactivating. I can just edit the listing with a new item I was planning to list anyway. I recently sold a pair of ceramic bunny rabbits on Bonanza that I also had listed on Etsy. And before quickly deactivating the Etsy listing, I remembered that I had a vintage Kent Collectibles Jean Steele Originals Teddy Bear sitting beside me on the counter that I had been planning to list. Instead of hitting “deactivate,” I hit “edit” and replaced all photos, description, category, shipping, tags, etc. with those needed for the bear. Voila, I saved the extra time left that I had already paid for and listed something new in my shop. Happy Etsy Selling & Shopping!
I’m going to take a moment to appreciate the four digit number that now graces the sales position of my Etsy Store. Just over a month shy of my two year anniversary on this enjoyable website, I look forward to finding more vintage items to easily offer to their wonderful customer base. Thank you, Etsy, for creating an online selling and shopping experience that ranks highest to myself and my buyers among all others.
Once in awhile I receive a review or comment that makes my work seem all the more worthwhile. I love dealing in vintage toys most because I’m thinking that the people buying these items had them as a child and they were either broken or lost, but not forgotten. Or parents and grandparents are trying to do the same for their children and grandchildren. Here are some examples:
And others are happy to add my vintage items to their displays and collections:
And finally, one customer who bought eleven of my Disney items at once took the time to leave wonderful feedback for each one:
These comments are also a testament to the wonderful community of buyers and sellers that makes Etsy the great marketplace that it is. Peruse mine and other store on Etsy for great finds from a great community!
