I was feeling a bit dejected as I circled around, not finding very much, and thinking that the store must have done a recent purge as a lot of areas seemed depleted. I did pick up one grab bag with the Christmas Woody and Bullseye, the Hallmark Teddy Bear Elf and the Applause White Christmas reindeer. And then I found two bags of vintage Christmas glass ball ornaments at $1.98 each. And then the cute little vintage figurine of three choir boys from Japan at $2.98.
But after that, I was only left with jeans and shoes as all other areas weren’t offering any hidden surprises. In jeans I picked up two pairs of Joe’s Jeans in the Honey style, a Hudson Woodstock, a gray J Brand Wink and a gray Gap Real Straight, a 7 For All Mankind Lexie Kaylie, Lucky Brand Sweet ‘N Straight, Level 99’s and a Miss Me Lace Pocket. Jean prices ranged from $1.74-$5.24.
And in shoes, I found some boots. A pair of olive green suede VINCE boots, some Kenneth Cole Reaction No Turning Back boots in black, and Jeffrey Campbell Havana Last handmade leather Lita booties. Boots ranged from 99¢-$7.24.
I spent a whopping $65.05 bringing my dollar cost averaging of twenty items to $3.25 per item. Too much for some, a great price for others. Potential gain $700.
It’s finally here! Garage Sale SEASON! After months and months of rain, we finally had a sunny weekend with all of… like five sales. But better than nothing! At the first, people were carting out boxes before the 8:00 start time. All I found there was the Lucky Brand purse. The first lady quoted me “$10” so I went to the other lady who said, “$5.”
On to the next stop, another Estate Sale where in one room I found all the Christmas stuff. Vintage glass balls from Shiny Brite and Premier Glass Works, some vintage figurines, plastic nativities, a Santa Bell, a Hallmark Sweetheart Bicycle ornament, vintage German Angel candleholders, the whole box bargained down to $15. And then I found a vintage Madame Alexander doll and vintage cake toppers in the garage for a total of $3.
A driveby had the True Religion jeans for $2.
The next had nothing and the one after that had the Hummel wall pockets, small Hummel angel, Hummel Collectors Club plaque, the vintage wire chair pin cushion and the vintage Dakin German Shepherd dog, all for $6.
And then later I took my son to baseball practice and stopped by one last one that had the gall to start at noon where I picked up two German steins and a little Christmas teaset, both for $2.
$33 spent. Potential gain of $500. Not a bad morning for the start of the season.
