Because it was the end of school weekend and our town was having its Art & Wine Festival, I figured there really wouldn’t be much. But I was wrong. Beginning at the far end of town, I started with a Free People floral dress that sold an hour after I listed it, as well as an Anthropologie sweater. At the next I picked up a BCBGMaxAzria blue dress. Spotting a sign in the area, there was a Lions Club sale where I bought a bag of shoes at a dollar each, along with a Roxy wetsuit new with tag, some lacy jeans, a Disney purse and a Betsey Johnson tote.
Then I wanted to head to a church rummage sale which was completely across town. On the way, I did stop at one sale where I picked up a green canvas messenger bag for $1. Finally getting to the church sale, some crazy person was trying to sell vintage Barbie cases for $20 each, so I passed and headed inside where one of my regulars had a table. There I piled up Muppets and Anime action figures, a Power Rangers transformer, a Kermit mug, a Brighton wallet, a Lenox cat and some shoes. At surrounding tables I found the Kamenstein carousel teapot, the Ugg clogs, the Fossil bag, the Calico Critters house, and the vintage child’s sewing machine.
Moving backward to the remaining sales, I picked up some Lucky Brand booties, a couple of vintage children’s books, a couple of Hummel figurines, a Strawberry Shortcake mug, a Japanese Pose Doll, a Sam Fink lipstick holder, a vintage nursery lamp, a pair of John Fluevog shoes, some Ariat Fat Baby boots, a set of a leather liquor bottle and shot glasses, and a vintage Bossy Bell Fisher Price Cow Pull Toy.
All in all, I spent $115, quite a bit in retrospect. One dress already sold at $49, potential gain of $1,000.
